Check Sullivan County VINELink

A Sullivan County VINELink custody check is Missouri's way of watching one person after an arrest. The state calls its service MOVANS. You pick a reporting agency and search. If that agency feeds data, you can get alerts. The system flags a custody change by text or email. That is the whole job. It will not show a full arrest history, a court record, or anyone held federally. Sullivan County is not listed on a public participation roster. So treat a blank result as a reason to call the sheriff. Note: phone and app alerts stopped in 2026, so old instructions no longer apply.

Sullivan County VINELink Coverage

Missouri's VINE service goes by MOVANS. It has two public doors: VINELink and the state's own MOVANS portal. Choose Missouri first. Then find the reporting agency you need. Then search one name. What comes back depends entirely on whether that agency shares its data with the system. Department of Corrections entries sit on the state-prison side rather than tracking a fresh Sullivan County Jail booking. No public list shows Sullivan County Jail as an active participant. So a match can help, but it is never the county's full roster. The Sullivan County Sheriff's Office answers the real question, held or released or transferred. The number is 660-265-3313. County custody can end while a case stays open. It can also turn into state supervision after sentencing. MOVANS just reports what was sent. It decides nothing, edits no arrest report, and replaces no docket.

Check a Sullivan County Arrest

Use the most exact identity details you have. A bare name can pull up several people. Missouri's older public guide allows a search by name or offender ID. Adding a date of birth or age range narrows the field. The live interface governs if those options shift.

  1. Open VINELink and choose Missouri.
  2. Select the relevant custody or reporting agency if asked.
  3. Enter the first and last name or offender ID.
  4. Add a birth date or age range only when known.
  5. Compare all shown identifiers, location, agency, and status.
  6. Call the sheriff when no reliable match appears.

A brand-new booking may lag before any outside system shows it. There is no verified county roster online. The Sullivan County 24 Hour Arrests route covers the limited MSHP same-day view. It also adds a phone fallback. Remember that MSHP lists trooper arrests only. The VINELink search interface offers a neutral starting point, not a gallery of faces.

Sullivan County Custody Result Fields

Missouri's public materials describe the fields below. Treat them as interface possibilities. No Sullivan County match is promised to carry every item, and no universal local rule governs whether a booking photo appears.

FieldHow to read it
Name and offender IDIdentity fields used to separate similar names.
Date of birth or ageMatch aids, not a full identity check.
Custody statusThe status sent by the reporting system, which may lag.
LocationThe reported facility, which can change after transfer.
Reporting agencyThe data source and best office for confirmation.
Reason for changeA release, transfer, or other custody event, not a court result.
Photo, if availableAn optional item, not guaranteed for Sullivan County.

Released means the person left that custody setting. It says nothing about dismissal. Transferred points to another agency or facility that may now hold the person. For a final case result, use Case.net or the Sullivan County Circuit Clerk.

Register Sullivan County Custody Alerts

Register against a person or record you have already confirmed. Use the live MOVANS form. Then choose SMS text or email. Phone and app notices died in the May 2026 change. That covers local jail and detention-center alerts. Where an old brochure gives telephone PIN steps, that is legacy guidance.

  1. Open the current Missouri MOVANS registration screen.
  2. Find and verify the correct person and agency.
  3. Choose an available custody-change event.
  4. Select SMS text or email for a local-jail alert.
  5. Enter and confirm the requested contact details.
  6. Keep the confirmation and revise the registration after a transfer.

Older materials list release, transfer, and escape alerts. Work furlough, death, parole, and some court events appeared there too. Treat those as historic service concepts, not Sullivan County promises. Read the live form for current choices. MOVANS help answers at 573-526-1929, weekdays 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Email works too: movans@dps.mo.gov. The Missouri MOVANS registration screen is the current source for channels.

May 2026 MOVANS Arrest Changes

Missouri DPS announced a major overhaul in May 2026. Everyone registered for local jail and detention-center notices had to sign up again. Old registrations could not be counted on. Delivery for that service now runs through SMS and email. Phone and app alerts are gone. The update also changes how to read a blank search. DPS itself says a local jail may simply be offline. A fast release could explain it. Delayed data could also explain it. A different custody system, or an absent agency, could too. None of that rules out an arrest. The official Missouri DPS transition notice documents the re-registration and current channels.

Sullivan County VINELink Limits

MOVANS is no substitute for an arrest report, booking sheet, court docket, or complete history. A new booking can be too fresh to display. Someone released may drop from view. The arrest record still stands. A person sentenced to state prison shows up in MODOC Offender Search instead. Each system answers a different question.

Verify a blank result. Call the Sullivan County Sheriff's Office at 660-265-3313 and ask whether the person is held, released, or transferred.

The Sullivan County Sheriff's office lists no online arrest roster and no separate records-unit phone line. Its main number is the practical fallback. When you call, give the full name and a rough arrest or booking date. Was the person moved? Ask that too. A transfer to another agency changes where the search belongs, and an older booking belongs with the arresting agency rather than MOVANS, which is a notification system and not an archive.

Skip the apps. The Sullivan sheriff has no official booking-photo feed or app. Missouri DPS states plainly that MobilePatrol and Missouri Sheriff Connect are not affiliated with DPS or MOVANS. A similar name means nothing here. Treat none of them as a live Sullivan County jail roster.

Federal Custody After an Arrest

MOVANS stops at the county line. Missouri's system does not track federal Bureau of Prisons custody or immigration detention. A federal inmate search belongs in the BOP Inmate Locator. Immigration holds may require the ICE Online Detainee Locator or federal DHS-VINE. None of these connect to Sullivan County Jail. None of them hand back a county mugshot.

A blank federal result deserves a second look. The person could still sit in local custody or wait on a transfer. They might fall outside the locator's scope, or be listed under different identity details. Confirm the agency first. The Sullivan County recent arrests hub sorts these into separate paths. A new booking, county custody, state supervision, and federal custody each get one. A federal service is never a Sullivan County roster.

Confirm Sullivan County Alert Data

A MOVANS alert is only as fresh as the event the reporting agency filed. Write down the offender ID, the agency name, and the location shown. Also note the time you checked. Those notes make any follow-up call quick. After a release or transfer notice arrives, toss the old screenshot. If MOVANS names a receiving facility, call that facility directly. Confirm the new custody setting there.

Each Sullivan County office owns a different slice of the record. The sheriff answers the immediate custody question at the jail. Milan Police holds city arrest reports, while MSHP controls trooper reports. MODOC Offender Search takes over once someone enters state supervision. Case.net and the Circuit Clerk handle the public court case. Keep those roles straight. A custody alert will not get mistaken for a full arrest record.

Alerts fail for mundane reasons. A number changed, or a message landed in spam. A registration did not survive the 2026 transition. After any long gap, recheck the live registration. Never wait on a text during an emergency; call 911. MOVANS support handles technical registration questions during its published weekday hours.
